About Simona Rich

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Simona Rich and I’m the owner of this self improvement website.

This website has my content, staff articles (formal sounding articles), contributors’ articles and the postsĀ for the $50 contest.

I used to write all the articles myself, but now I spend more time creating personal development products and travelling throughout India.

The easiest way to find out what I’m up to is to sign up for my newsletter and follow me on Twitter or Facebook.

Besides writing articles and testing self improvement strategies, I also offer coaching, however I’m gradually reducing my coaching hours to focus on helping more people through my products.

Although now I have found my life’s purpose – to empower and inspire millions of people with self improvement knowledge – and I fully enjoy my life, it was not always like that.

My life a few years back

When I finished high school I came to the United Kingdom to study tourism. That didn’t last long – I quit after around two months because I realised it wasn’t for me. I thought that studying tourism would be very exciting but it really wasn’t and the career in tourism wasn’t too promising either. So after some intense consideration I decided to discontinue my studies.

This was the time when I started to gradually wake up from the false belief system that so many people unquestionably accept. Nonetheless there was still a long way to go to become empowered and find my life’s purpose.

As soon as I came to the UK, I started working as a receptionist in a game arcade which I quite liked because of the people that worked there. We would play bowling and other games before going home and on some weekends we would meet up and have a great time together. But the job itself was really tiring and the managers constantly asked me to work overtime which I couldn’t do because of my studies at that time.

One day I came back from the university, checked my mobile and found 20 messages (yes, 20) left from my manager asking me to do some overtime work. After a week of this incident I got a letter telling me that I was made redundant!

Great. I had two choices now. I could either feel sorry for myself and be angry about the unfairness of the situation or I could think how I can turn this around. Fortunately I chose the latter option.

In around a week I found another job and after several short-term admin positions I started to work for a market research company. My position involved calling businesses to conduct all kinds of surveys. That was the worst job I’ve ever had, but I kept working there because it provided good money and I could choose my own hours.

Two years passed by in the same employment and only then did I realise that I was stuck. Even with this new understanding I was scared to change a thing because I got very comfortable with my life. I had a steady paycheck and I could afford to travel once in a while. Leaving my comfort zone seemed to scary to even attempt.

And that’s not all. During this time I got stuck in a relationship that was going nowhere. I was with a person that was completely opposite to who I was and our love vanished as fast as it started. That time was really tough for me but I just couldn’t find the courage to leave after two years of our relationship.

Finally the thoughts of missing out on life became too strong to ignore and I realised that if I didn’t change now, I would never do. So I started to create different businesses but then I would get bored and sabotage myself and then I would start all over again. I was really lost at that stage of my life and didn’t know what to do.

Out of my misery I started reading all kinds of self-help books, attended different seminars and I began to gradually turn my life around. These books and seminars affected my thinking to such a degree that in less than a year I completely got rid of fear, split up with my partner and started to really enjoy my life.

Friends, seeing my sudden transformation, started asking how I achieved such change in such a short period of time. I helped them as much as I could and they also made significant improvements in their lives. They told about me to other people and I unexpectedly became the person whom everyone asked for advice. My informal consultations gradually developed into a full-time coaching business.

About my personal development website

I created this website in late December 2008 to provide advice because I didn’t have enough time to help everyone although I really wanted to. My site was initiallly created with Site Build It! which contributed a great deal to my success.

Now this site contains around 400 personal development articles covering a wide range of self-help topics including spirituality, productivity, mind and achievement. I also created products and courses out of the questions I received most often from my coaching clients, such as how to become completely empowered and how to see auras.

A few thoughts

I by no means consider myself to be a self-help guru or anything like that. “Self Improvement Blogger” or “Spiritual Self Improvement Blogger” is probably the nearest title that describes what I do, however I don’t like to label myself because such labels can only describe a tiny bit of who I am.

I’ve read hundreds of self improvement books and put them into practise to understand and help as much people as I can, but there’s still a lot more to learn. I often get insights when I meditate and I like to think deeply about the issues affecting people. The greatest breakthroughs I made mainly came out of my own conclusions rather than reading someone else’s books or listening to someone else’s wisdom.

I’m really glad that now more and more people realise that most psychologists and life coaches with degrees cannot help their clients. Real life experience, seeking inner wisdom and applying knowledge is what makes you able to transform your life and the lives of others.

So that’s all about me. Thank you for reading this far. If you want to keep in touch with me, subscribe to my newsletter or follow me on twitter. You can also add me as a friend on Facebook. You are always welcome to email me (simonarich1 (at) gmail.com) your suggestions, feedback or questions – I’m here to help!

I hope that you will gain tremendous value from my self improvement posts and articles.

All the best in your personal development journey.
