Feng Shui to Improve Your Teenager’s Mood
Were you aware of the fact that Feng Shui can help to significantly improve the mood of your teenager?
Any parent of a teenager will know exactly what I am talking about when I use the words “apathetic teenager.” They all go through it, don’t they; those increasingly frequent apathetic phases where your teen who just yesterday it seems was a bubbly kid, suddenly becomes a moody, sullen and apathetic teen who barely speaks two sentences at a time unless they are finding fault with the world in general, and with you in particular.
When my oldest daughter showed the classic signs of becoming an apathetic teenager I assumed that it was an inevitable part of the process of growing up, I didn’t even to stop to consider that the flow of energy and her own changing energies could have anything to do with her increasingly sullen and apathetic mood swings. It wasn’t until her apathetic mood had gone on for more than two years and showed absolutely no sign of lifting that I began looking for outside help. Not wanting to resort to having her medicated, I decided to do some research and was astounded to find that Feng Shui could actually have an impact on a teenager’s mood. Desperate to pull her out of the apathetic pit she’d dug for herself, I decided to give it a try.
We began with one simple step; a complete and total cleaning and de-cluttering; top to bottom. She wasn’t happy about the de-cluttering, but the novelty of the project kept her interested and involved and so did the promise that if she went through with the whole process that I’d reward her with a new comforter, throw pillows and rug. We installed a closet organizer to help her keep her clothes organized and put in two bookcases with organizer baskets so that she could have a place for all her things.
Next was a bagua reading of her room and a look at her own personal chart. It turned out that given the location of her room some significant changes to her furniture arrangement needed to be made; specifically her bed to the location that would best improve her chances of deep sleep and her desk to the optimal area for study.
Then came the color. Color is one of the simplest ways to balance the energies of a room and it turned out that her room needed a strong infusion of earth energy to balance the rest out, which a sandy peach toned paint (applied with a light metallic over-coat) took care of.
It was at this point that the energy of the room began to have a serious impact and my daughter took over the process of decorating with an enthusiasm that she hadn’t showed for anything in years. In less than two weeks you would not have recognized her room as the same one that we had begun with, and her attitude had improved to the point that one of her teachers had contacted me and asked just what we were doing to make such an incredible difference.
I could only tell her what I will tell you; the ancient art of placement ; of Feng Shui can have a bigger impact on health and well being (both physical and mental) than most people give it credit for.
