Being in absolutely appalling conditions can actually be a blessing in disguise because the worse conditions you find yourself in, the more motivated you will be to take massive action to get yourself out of such situation. Therefore those who feel fairly comfortable (but not happy) are the least likely to change as they don’t have a burning need to take massive action.

In this article I will focus on how to change your life if you are in fairly good circumstances at the moment.

Today I met a truly great person at one event who asked me this question, so I thought I will share my answer (and more) with those who would like to get the same advice.

I know the exact answer to this question because I was able to create quick progress whilst employed in a job I didn’t like but which provided good income. I did this by creating a compelling image of where I want to be in a few years time and I made this image as clear as possible. The clearer your goal is, the more motivated you will be to achieve it.

But it’s not enough to have a clear goal though. You also have to have a goal that you truly want to achieve. And by that I mean that it should be your heart’s wish and not your mind’s wish.

The way to tell whether your goal is your heart’s wish or your mind’s wish is this. If you think about your goal and you don’t get emotional, it means it’s your mind’s wish. You may still achieve such goal, with quite a lot of struggle, but you won’t feel fulfilled if you do. If will feel empty once you get it.

If your goal is truly something you want to achieve, you will not need to exert as much energy as the goal that’s only your mind’s wish. This is because you will work in alignment with your essence. If you want to achieve a goal that is not what you truly want, you will be divided against yourself and that will create additional obstacles for you to achieve it. You will keep sabotaging yourself and make unnecessary mistakes, thus wasting your time and energy.

So if you have a goal but you don’t feel emotional about it, stop fooling yourself. Think it over. Is it really something you are prepared to put long hours to achieve?

Once you are absolutely certain that your goal is something you truly (truly) want, here’s the next step. Check whether your mind agrees with the goal. Because if you deep inside doubt that you will achieve it, it’s unlikely that you will.

Doubt always hides limiting beliefs about whatever you want to achieve. So when you discover your doubt, question it. Question where it came from and whether it really represents reality. Understand that the way you perceive the reality might not be how the reality really is!:)

Also, look for clashing beliefs/thoughts to do with your goal. For example, if your goal is to become a billionaire but you also want to have plenty of free time, these are clashing beliefs. Or if you want to be very thin but you are not prepared to give up junk food, these are also clashing beliefs. Or if you want to empower millions but then think in a competitive manner, these are also clashing thoughts/beliefs.

Most people have clashing beliefs about the major areas of their lives and therefore they are stuck. It’s very easy to miss such beliefs because they became part of who you are so you might be thinking about them now without realising it because that thinking is almost subconscious.

However if you manage to quieten and clarify your mind (through meditation and shutting yourself out of as many external influences as possible), you will be able to discover quite a few of them. The rest you will discover alone if you are truly prepared to do a hard self-assessment which will take a few days (at least) or you can hire a coach (an experienced and good one) who will be able to uncover such clashing beliefs for you.

Now a few words about the external influences that create clashing beliefs in you. When you believe in something, but you, for example, watch the same TV show over and over again that keeps mentioning a totally opposite belief but in a way that you don’t realise it’s opposite, it will get embedded in your consciousness (and then overtaken by your subconscious mind) without you even knowing about it.

You are most likely to take in such clashing beliefs when you totally focus on that external influence and are not aware of what’s going on around you. That’s the time anything can be downloaded into your powerful mind.

So let’s say you live in Harpenden (a UK town) and you believe it’s really safe to live in this town. You now watch a TV program about safety in the UK and they keep talking about the worsening situation in this country and how the crime rates are rising everywhere. It’s very easy for you to miss this innocent “everywhere” word, but your brain already absorbed it and now, because you left in undetected, it will create a clashing belief which says “It’s safe in Harpenden” and at the same time “It’s not safe in Harpenden”.

Can you imagine what this clashing belief would do to you? Well firstly, it would keep you stuck. Secondly, it would create more chaos in your mind. Thirdly, you would start doubting yourself and then you would start getting agitated/anxious for no apparent reason.

The bad news is, it’s likely that you have 100s of such clashing beliefs, unless you seriously worked on yourself. And I’m not telling you all this to discourage you, but to make you aware of how much more you need to improve yourself for the road to become clearer and for your progress – quicker.

Awareness is really the key, so from now on I hope that you will not allow any external influences – neither your friends, TV, newspapers or authority figures – install such clashing beliefs in your mind. Because once they are there, it’s really hard to detect and remove them.

So when you don’t have any clashing beliefs about your goal, your goal is clear and it’s what you truly want, you will be more than motivated to achieve it, even though you may be quite comfortable in your present circumstances.

Most people strengthen their egos and not their cores, so they are fearful of doing something new or making fast progress. Their ego is constantly fed and so it expands and overtakes their lives. It’s extremely easy to expand your ego – just do what most people do.

The ego expands when you let the fear take over your life or when you don’t do uncomfortable things that are good for you. For example, if you want to become a leader, but you are scared to speak in public, it means you nourish your ego rather than let your core guide you. However if you speak in spite of your ego’s protests, it means you are making the right choice that will lead you to whatever goal you have.

The best habit you can get into is doing what’s uncomfortable for your ego but what’s good for you. So if you know that giving money to charity is good but you feel scared to do that because you have very little, that’s a sign you should give.

Everyone knows what’s good and what actions to take to get where you want to go. However those actions might not be comfortable for your ego, so most people convince themselves that they can’t take such actions. Deep inside all the right answers are, so don’t let your ego convince you otherwise.

For example, to be extremely successful, you have to provide massive value, make the right connections and have abundance mindset. This may not be easy to do, so ego fears the change and convinces you not to even attempt to make any changes in your life. This happens so elegantly that you don’t even notice how much harm you make with this decision (or should we call it no decision at all).

To give you an example of how much the ego holds people back, I will tell you about a situation most of you experienced. When you go to any event, especially to the one that can change your life, and the speaker asks a member of audience to stand up and go on stage to have a personal session with the speaker, most people get very fearful and just one or two raise their hands out of hundreds. People know the personal session with an expert will cause a profound change in who they are, but their egos are scared of the attention because who knows, maybe they will make fools out of themselves. So the fear of embarrassment becomes stronger than the desire to improve one’s life. That’s really sad.

Now how can you reduce your ego to such an extent that it does not keep you stuck? There are many things you can do and it’s really worth getting my Ego Class + Report as this program gives all the options of how to eliminate your ego. I will share one way to eliminate your ego, which is to never take actions out of fear because they produce failure and take you further from your goals.

Now some people get confused at this stage. If you are scared to do something, but you still do that, it’s good because you did that inspite of your fear. But if you are scared to do something and so you don’t, it means you let the fear take over you, you are obedient to it. So not taking any action in this situation is the fearful decision.

Or if you are scared of failure so you make some kind of excuse to your friends as to why you might not achieve something, that’s a fearful action. But if you are scared of failure but don’t “insure” yourself, just in case somehting bad happens, that’s a good decision.

When you refuse to take fearful actions, you avoid failure and so you become more confident in your own abilities. That encourages you to take more actions that are uncomfortable but good, and so you make increasingly faster progress towards your desires.

When you take action that is good for you but feels uncomfortable, you open up to more opportunities. So when the action is out of your comfort zone and you still take it, you get on another level where new unseen to you opportunities are. For example, when I attended quite a big event recently (around 200 people attended), I was invited by a speaker to get on the stage to do a role play. It was extremely uncomfortable to go on the stage but I did that because I knew that it will further reduce my ego and let my core shine. Deep inside I knew that that’s exactly what I wanted to do, however the ego still kept me fearful.

Once I went on the stage, half of my fear evaporated. It’s really not as scary as one might think. The audience is impersonal because there are 200 of them. It’s actually less scary than to speak in Toastmasters in front of 30 people. So this fear was such an illusion, and illusions as such keep people stuck sometimes till they die.

So the reason I’m telling you all this is to make you think about whether you let your ego rule your decisions. If you do, that will not allow you to break through to something better. I really (really) hope that after reading this post you will make a decision to not let the feeling of fear or embarrasment stop you. I hope that you will take the right action despite the uncomfortable feeling you get because of your ego.

You will notice that the more right actions you take without letting the ego convince you not to, the more progress you make and the better your life becomes. This is the evidence that you are going the right way and once you see the positive results, nothing will stop you from achieving your goals.

There is an NLP term called “Pattern Interrupt” which basically tells that when you do something unexpected, other people do not know how to react and they are left without any programming. This is the time that you can make the other person do anything you want. For example, some hypnotists can put people to sleep or reprogram their minds once people are in such interrupted state.

I’ve never tried to consciously apply the pattern interrupt. It’s very likely that another person would not want this to be done, so that means it’s against their will. However I cannot guarantee that this kind of pattern interrupt would lead to future negative outcomes since I have no experience in this sort of thing.

Nevertheless, me and my Comfort Zone Challenge attendees recently managed to alter the behaviour of other people without intending to do so. It was absolutely fascinating and even shocking to see this happening.

I really hope that after reading this post you will not attempt to apply this for anything negative, as what you give out you get back. I simply want to share my newly-found knowledge so that you would gain a better understanding of human nature.

So here it goes…

The Pattern Interrupt Story

I’ve recently organised a Comfort Zone Challenge (which I will keep organising) and we had a fantastic time together. When we met, we firstly discussed the theory part. I described how to challenge your comfort zone, how to gain confidence and go for what you want in life. Then we went on to apply the theory.

Each person had 5 tasks to accomplish which varied in difficulty. The first task was the easiest one and then it got harder and harder, and the fifth task was the hardest of all.

There were different areas that you could challenge yourself in, but the hardest one was the “Overall Confidence” area. This was the area most people chose, including myself (I do the tasks too). When people read the fifth (hardest) Overall Confidence challenge for the first time, they could not help but laugh. It was challenging indeed! So the fifth challenge was…

To go to a busy store and shout “I love this world!” or “God bless you all!”

We all did it. It was extremely challenging and if felt so good once it was over! Even when I think about it it still makes me laugh!

So the first person went into a large luxury store with red carpets, chandeliers and all.

We were already waiting for him in the store, pretending that we are simply minding our own business. It’s a bit noisy in the store since there are many shoppers. He shouts as hard as he can:

“I love this world!!!”.

The store goes quiet. All people look at him. All people are confused. Their patterns are interrupted and so they have no programs to run. They are in such a receptive state that anyone could hypnotise them to some degree. During this very pattern interrupt, our group starts clapping. Others follow without much thinking.

How profound.

This reaction of others really surprised me. So basically when their patterns get interrupted, they search for someone to model – anyone. So when someone takes some action whilst others are still disoriented, they will take this action too.

If I would hear this being told to me, I would straight away think how to apply it. I hope you think about the possible (positive) application too.

Here are some suggestions…

If you are trying to convince someone that your suggestion is the one that should be accepted (in whatever situation), you can do something unexpected that would break the person’s pattern and then say something along the lines of:

“So you agree with this, yes?”

Or let’s say someone has a hostile attitude towards you. You could do something they don’t expect, and then, whilst they are without any program, give a suggestion such as:

“Please understand my situation”

or

“Have a pleasant attitude”

These suggestions might still be against the will of another person, although they are positive. So I cannot guarantee that there wouldn’t be any negative outcomes as a result of such action.

I might try to do something like it and then monitor how my life unfolds. If I notice something weird happening, I will update this post. So keep referring to it, or simply subscribe to the comments of this post and I will update it with a comment if I notice something unusual.

It is true that what you focus on you get, but only if you focus on your desire long enough and refuse to settle for less. Most people live mediocre lives because they take what comes along out of fear that they won’t get their true desires.

My mistake

I made the mistake of settling for less in my life many times until I learnt that the only reason I was getting what I didn’t really want was because I accepted average options in my life. For example, I would decide to only associate with positive, like-minded people who love what they do and thrive, but when I would meet someone below those standards I would still decide to hang out with such person. So basically I would set a goal but then accept something else and so fill in the space for my desire with a less desirable option.

I fell into this mediocrity trap so many times that I started seeing the pattern. Once I understood that it’s a universal law, I finally stopped doing that and started winning the game of life. So let me put this mediocrity trap in easy words so that you would understand it fully and not make this mistake again:

The mediocrity trap is the situation where you decide to go for your desire but some less desireable option comes along and you take it. Thus you have no space left for your original desire and so you don’t get it.

That’s the story of most people. For example, they end up in undesirable relationships because they are scared that they will end up alone or would be unable to attract their perfect mates. It’s only them to blame. Because they didn’t take the risk of not having their desires fulfilled (which is not a risk if you know the law), now they pay big time.

Look at your life as a game. It should be fun to play it and learn from it – don’t get too dramatic about what’s happening in your life. Go for big goals and search for universal laws in every situation you are faced with. This way your life becomes exciting and fun rather than boring and dull.

I know it takes faith and some form of risk to refuse quite a good option (but not the option you would really like to take). But that’s the price you need to pay if you want to eventually get what you really desire. So have a desire worth having and refuse to take anything less than it!

Is your goal worth going for?

I will tell you a story which illustrates that the quality of your desire is very important.

When I started writing self improvement articles, after a few months or so I decided to review some books. I did that because I enjoy reading books so I thought, why not to share my views about them, and also to create an extra passive income source (from amazon commissions). I didn’t receive any commissions from this new activity for quite a long time. However I refused to give up and I kept reviewing books with the unwavering faith that this will turn into a stable passive income source. A few more months passed by and – surprise, surprise – the income started rolling in. Had I quit it, I probably even now wouldn’t know that amazon affiliate scheme is a great passive income stream.

But now as I think about it, I understand that this goal wasn’t big enough. If I would focus this time I spent on creating my own product, I might have benefited more people and earned more money. So although I got the exact goal I wanted, the goal, I think, could have been bigger, resulting in bigger returns.

So select the goal you are truly passionate about rather than the one that seems quite good.

Keep a steady focus

Here’s another observation about going for the best. The bigger your goal is, the more the universe will test you whether you really want it. So if you, for example, decide to get a partner of your dreams, it’s very likely that you will meet many “average” and “quite nice” people who would like to date you. But only if you refuse to settle for less will you get what you really want – eventually.

If your goal is small, then the universe will test you one or a few times before handing your ultimate desire. If you don’t believe this is the case, just try it and you will see.

Even when it looks like there’s no way you can get what you really want, you still need to focus only on your desire and refuse to accept any other options. You cannot know what’s in store for you because you cannot see what’s happening beyond this physical world. The universe is the intelligence, so don’t concern yourself about how you will get what you want – you will, if you keep your focus on it.

But here’s how people completely ignore this very useful law and thus settle for mediocrity. Let’s take job hunting as an example as it will apply to many. Almost all people search for jobs this way: they open a newsletter and look at all the ads and pick those that appeal to them and then they send their application forms and hope for the best. That’s an approach that is guaranteed to land you a mediocre job.

If you would put this law into action, here’s how you would go about finding a job (I don’t encourage you to find a job in any way, as you may know, but this is a good example). You should decide on your perfect job – the industry, the position, the hours and the pay – and scan the newspaper for such role. If it’s not there, keep searching for it in other sources and be patient. Don’t even apply to positions that look “quite” good. Keep your focus on your ultimate desire. Prepare for it and demand it – it has to manifest sooner or later.

Conclusion

I know it takes a great deal of faith to believe that this principle works all the time. So test it first on something small and this way you will gain trust in the law.

Once you know the law works, you will be so much ahead of those who are ignorant of it. You will know that if you really want something, you will need to refuse to take other options until you have it. Other options fill in the place of your desire and thus there’s no place for what you really want. Nature abhors vacuum and so if you refuse to fill it with average options and keep your focus on what you really want, you will have it sooner or later.

So don’t make the mistake of considering secondary options or things you will do if you don’t get what you want – such strategies keep people mediocre. Be different and you will get outstanding results. Use this law to your advantage instead of getting used by it or ignoring it. It will pay off!

I hope you will enjoy reading the review as much as I enjoyed the book.

This book contains metaphysical money advice, basically it deals with how to adjust your energy to get into the money flow.

It contains advice that should be applied over time and the results will not be instant, but they will be permanent once they arrive.

I had this book for ages and I’m glad I decided to review it, as not many people are aware of this great author.

A few months ago through some of my friends I met this very interesting girl. She was of a similar age to me and we seemed to have a lot in common. So we decided to meet up and soon our meetings became regular. We were growing into good friends and our future seemed bright:)

After a month or so we came to know each other very well or at least I thought I knew the girl quite well. But the meeting that followed changed my whole opinion about her personality.

We, as usual, decided to go for a walk and then to a cafe. From the beginning of the meetup she seemed different. I started guessing in my mind whether she had a particularly bad day or I was seeing the other side of her.

Everything I said was perceived by her as some kind of attack. Whatever comment I made, I got an angry/twisted reply. I was puzzled. I thought I knew her. Next to me was a person who was completely different to the one I knew a few days ago and I didn’t appreciate this sudden change.

After an hour or so I was done. I cannot put up with such behaviour as I highly value my time. So I swiftly excused myself. I never saw her again, although she tried to contact me.

When you place high value on yourself, that’s what you do – you don’t hang out with people who don’t value you. Instead, you spend time with people who are positive, high achievers and have trust in you. This trust of theirs translates into more self confidence.

When you are with positive and successful people, you get charged up. When you are with negative people, you get drained. Positive people make you feel invincible, you feel as though you could do anything in this world. If you have friends like that, almost everything is possible for you. Such group of friends can be called a Master Mind group, and the power of such group can be described this way: 1+1=11.

Once I dumped this friendship, I filled it with meetings with high achievers. Once you get into successful circles, it’s very easy to make friends who respect and value you. But if you keep hanging out with negative people, you will have no time for people who would improve your life. Also, if you keep being with negative people, you will find it very uncomfortable to be with high achievers because of your constantly enforced comfort zone.

How to get successful friends

I love saying that pigeons flock and eagles fly alone, as this perfectly describes the masses and the leaders. So don’t expect to find very successful people instantly, because it’s likely they will be progressing in life on their own. The way successful people “flock” is different to the way masses do.

When you value your time, you set appointments not only with clients, but with friends too. You cannot afford spending ages with one person when that means you are losing money or some work is not done. Also, you spend most of your time alone or with your clients/business partners.

So when looking for a company of successful people, here’s what I can advise you. Value their time. Make appointments and Stick to them, otherwise they will consider you to be unreliable and you will hardly ever meet them again. Also, join groups/activities that successful people are likely to be members of, such as golf clubs, investment seminars or charity events.

When you are in the company of people who achieved more than you did, keep your mind open and take their advice. I notice that those people who are average keep their minds closed. They can be exposed to the most successful person on earth and yet they think they know better. What a shame.

I absolutely loved the quote that appeared on my facebook wall. I don’t remember who it was that wrote the quote, but it basically said that fools always talk over masters. That’s so true. Those people who know least think they know it all and are more than happy to teach others their “wisdom”. So when you are with a successful person, don’t make this mistake and be willing to act on the advice that you get.

Why some people never change their friends

Once I started organising my meetup groups, I noticed the same question coming up over and over again. Some people find it really hard to end relationships with negative friends/relatives. Let me tell you a story before explaining how to do that. Maybe the story itself will motivate you to change your mind about this issue.

When I was employed at a call centre, I used to know this lady who had many health issues. She was probably around 35, Irish. She had many friends at work and during breaks she would always be out with different people. Then one day I came to work and I was told that the Irish lady had unexpectedly died at her home.

As soon as I heard this sad fact, only one thought kept coming back into my mind. I kept thinking that when we talked on a few occations we engaged in useless topics. We talked about the stuff that didn’t improve any of our lives, just random everyday topics that masses seem to engage in.

When you are looking at such situation an then in such context you think about how people usually spend their time, you understand how wastefully most people live their lives. They don’t appreciate this absolutely amazing gift they were given. They don’t make the most of it. They don’t risk – they stay safe – talking about safe topics and being with safe people, and die without many achievements.

Life is a playground. It is meant to be fun and challenging and exciting. It’s there for us to enjoy and learn. It’s such a great tool to develop your soul. Yet most people take the back seats in their own lives and judge those who achieve more.

Your life can end in any moment. Do you live your life the way you want it, or do you put up with bad attitudes of those around you and are scared to take a more risky move?

You cannot afford being with negative people

So the moral of the story is, life is too short to spend with negative people. Your life is too precious for that and your time is too valuable to be spent in such a wasteful manner. Only be with people that make you grow and who respect you. Only engage in activities that ensure your progress instead of keeping you in your comfort zone. That’s what life is about.

Those people who cannot decide to dump negative people from their lives simply don’t appreciate their time on this earth. They don’t believe they are worthy people.

Let me tell you this – everyone is worthy. Every single person who is on this planet is worthy, it’s only your conditioning that convinces you otherwise.

So if you find it hard to get rid of negative people, start valuing yourself more. You can do that by eliminating your mental limitations, deepening your knowledge about yourself and your interests. Become an expert at something. Spend time alone analysing your thoughts and making connections between what you think about and what you have. All these actions will make you understand how precious you are and how much your time is worth. Once you are convinced of your worthiness, you will automatically avoid people who don’t value you.

I recently set a very big goal to achieve. Since then, a strange thing kept happening to me and continues to happen to this very day.

The number 22 keeps appearing in my life and seems that I see increasingly more manifestations of this number day by day.

Yesterday I saw the time as 22:22, the house number 22 was the one that got my attention and then the house number 22 again, with both pillars of the house having 2 in the middle.

Then I came back home and I was counting the pocket money left from today’s spending and it was exactly £22. I can’t believe it.

This number as though kept encouraging me to look up its meaning. And so I did. What I found out surprised me even more – this number is one of the most successful numbers and it makes it possible to achieve even the most ambitious desires. Wow, what a timing. Thank you universe for affirming that my goal will indeed be possible to achieve.

As I was talking to my coaching client (a spiritually aware guy), he told me that the universe has a language of numbers and not words and that if you pay attention, it can reveal new truths to you. So when you see some number (most people see 11:11), it means it has a message for you. Simply google “The meaning of (your number)” and you will likely to get the description of it.

If you also see the number 22, here is more information about it. 22 is the master number. If you see it all the time, it means you are the number 22 (not literally, of course:). You are likely to be entrepreneurial, self confident and a leader. Your purpose in life is to strive to achieve goals that will benefit the whole humanity and are bigger than most people’s goals. You are practical, intuitive, very hard worker, inspirational, visionary but selfish. You have a good common sense.

If you want more information about this and other numbers, I found a good numerology website here.

If you have some similar stories about the numbers following you to share, please do so by leaving a comment!

*Update* today I intentionally counted how many times I saw this number. It was 10 instances in total.

Erin is an intuitive counselor who became aware of a spiritual side of life when she was only a child. Her story is engaging and inspiring, and it’s a pleasure to share it with you.

I believe that you can gain a lot of spiritual knowledge from her teachings, because she truly walked the path of spirituality: she had some of the most interesting psychic experiences I have ever heard, opened her third eye and can pick up on the possible future of the passers-by.

I encourage you to visit her blog, where she shares many of her personal psychic experiences and ways of how you can become more spiritually aware.

1. Can you briefly describe your occupation?

Some people would say that I’m a psychic, a medium, and/or an intuitive counselor. But really those are just tools in my tool belt. My true occupation is lightworker, and I’m here to awaken and empower the other lightworkers on the planet so we can shift consciousness towards love, peace, and compassion, and to help people remember that we are all One. I am a speaker, author, and blogger – again all tools in my quest to inspire and motivate other lightworkers to embrace their mission and get moving on their paths.

2. When did you realise that you had psychic abilities?

When I was four years old I started demonstrating psychic abilities. I had precognitive dreams, including visitations from deceased relatives, and knowing what was going to happen before it happened. I’ve always been empathic, so I know what people are feeling and sometimes thinking around me. As the years went by, I had so much contact with the paranormal that I thought it was natural. I did have to learn to navigate the good and the bad though. It was an incredible journey.

It wasn’t until 2006, however, that I understood I could use my gifts to guide others. That’s when a particularly strong deceased spirit came to me with information that I was able to pass on to her still-living fiancé. Once I discovered I could tune in to spirits and guides on the other side, I began developing my abilities specifically to help others. I was given a conduit guide who helps me connect with other peoples’ guides, and I was trained and taught by my guides on how to give readings for others. I have been blessed to have given thousands of readings in a relatively short time.

3. How do psychic abilities help you in your every day life?

My empathic abilities certainly give me an advantage when I interact with other people. And my ability to hear my own spirit guides often keeps me out of trouble and also makes me aware of opportunities. I think I would feel blind or deaf without my psychic abilities. I’m at a point now, though, where my abilities are so incorporated into my daily life that I’m not sure what it would feel like if I didn’t have access to them.

I encourage and recommend everyone to work out their intuitive muscles and learn to connect with their spirit guides. If you don’t, it’s like unread email in your inbox. They’re trying to help you. I’m available to read for people who can’t tune in to their guides on their own, but my ultimate goal is to encourage, train, teach, and help others learn how to tune in to their guides independently.

4. What kind of reactions do you get from people when you tell them your occupation?

That’s a funny question because sometimes I’ll know in advance how someone is going to react to me being a psychic so I purposely tell them I’m a writer. If I think a person can handle it and is a vibrational match for it, I tell them I’m an intuitive counselor. Otherwise, I say I write a blog on spirituality, peace, and compassion. Most people can handle that.

In the early years I used to just blurt out that I’m a psychic and I got such strange reactions from people. Sometimes people would back away from me slowly like I was radioactive. Sometimes they would clam up their energy so I couldn’t read their minds. Some people threatened me with physical violence, and still others told me I worked for Satan. And people think I’m nuts!

5. How do you deal with critics and sceptics?

I have found over the years that the critics and skeptics are just running a script. They hear I’m psychic, it brings up all the negative things they believe about psychics in general, and they conclude I must be all of those negative things. I’ve had occasions where I’ve done readings for people I didn’t know were skeptics and all of them have told me later that I blew them away. I think, honestly, that most critics and skeptics simply don’t understand psychic abilities and aren’t bothering to educate themselves before criticizing.

Now I take it in stride. I understand that we all have a perspective, and that people are entitled to their beliefs. All I wish is that people would get to know me before they judge me. And that’s advice I’d give to anyone, not just critics and skeptics.

I will not, however, bend over backwards or jump through hoops to try to convince anyone of my abilities. There are enough people in the world who understand the world of intuition and who appreciate what professional intuitives can do for them. I serve them.

6. What was the most surprising psychic experience you had?

Two come to mind. I was vacationing in New York City and I was intending to go to ground zero to see if I could communicate with any deceased people who were victims of 9/11. The night before, one of them woke me up and began speaking urgently, asking me to get information to his family. I listened for a moment but I was too tired to concentrate so I asked him to come back in the morning when I would be at the twin tower location. When we got there, though, the construction noise was so loud and there were so many people that I couldn’t tune in properly, and then I regretted having sent him away so fast. I was able to remember enough information to find him in a database, though, and his story and his family’s story matched.

(Simona Rich: Warning: what comes next might frighten some people, so read if you think you can handle it)

The other experience that always sticks out for me was the deceased woman who appeared to me during a reading. She was right up in my face and really bloody. Turns out she had shot herself in the face. That was the first time I was startled by a spirit. She really rattled me. After that experience my guides got better at keeping deceased spirits at bay. That experience taught me that I can be startled by a spirit but I don’t need to be afraid as they won’t actually hurt me.

7. Can people get answers and guidance from their dreams?

Absolutely! Dreams are very powerful. Your dreams are the perfect place to receive communication from your subconscious mind, your spirit guides, your higher self, angels, and even Source. Sometimes a dream is your mind’s way of processing information, but other times you can initiate or receive contact with conscious beings on the other side. Dreams are a great place to interact with deceased relatives (though not every dream you have about them is real communication).

Lucid dreaming is really the way to go. If you can master the art of becoming aware that you’re dreaming while you are dreaming then the sky is the limit. You can practice real world skills in a dream such as playing a musical instrument or studying for an exam. Or you can perform feats that are physically impossible while awake such as flying or having super powers. Plus you can create worlds in which to play, imagine, and explore.

I’ve had dreams where I’ve literally sat down with my guides for a chat. Talk about clarity of communication! One reason it’s so easy to communicate with spirits or guides in a dream is because you inherently know that anything can happen in a dream so you don’t block them from coming to you. Your mind can rationalize the experience so it simply lets it happen. You’ll know you’re receiving clear and valid communication in a dream if it feels very real, has a real impact on you, and you wake up feeling refreshed and inspired.

8. How can a person get in touch with his or her spirit guides?

The best way is through meditation or dreams. If you can learn lucid dreaming, as mentioned above, then I would do that as the communication is clear and needs no interpretation. Otherwise, and for most people, meditation is the way to go. First, discover your dominant intuitive modality, then use that modality to communicate with your guides. Guided meditations are great, as is just sitting quietly, raising your vibration, and allowing communication to occur naturally.

If meditation isn’t your thing, try this exercise. Get quiet and in a state of peace as best you can. Open a word document on your computer or grab a piece of paper. Write or type out a question and listen, see, or feel the answer come to you. Jot it down. Keep going, asking your questions and jotting down the answers. Don’t filter or evaluate the experience while you’re having it as you can block your own connection. Just keep going. The longer you do it, the more connected you’ll become. The benefit of this style of communication is having a record you can refer back to later.

9. What’s the difference between angels and guides?

Angels are celestial beings who offer us comfort when we are having an emotional crisis. They can be counted on for protection and love. They are not of the human genus, though, and do not incarnate. They help keep the world in balance and manage the flow of Source energy. They vibrate at an extremely high vibration and are very loving.

Spirit guides are beings who may or may not have ever incarnated as humans who agree to guide us when we are born. They help keep us moving in the direction of our life purpose, sending signs, synchronicities, and signals to get our attention. They help arrange encounters so that we meet the right people at the right time. Guides are looking after our life plan and advising us with their wisdom and higher perspective.

10. I’ve read about some of your astral-projection experiences. What are the benefits of astral projection?

The biggest benefit for me was realizing that my soul and my body are two separate things, and that my soul can live outside my body. Once you realize you do indeed have a soul, you stop fearing death, knowing that your consciousness will live on when the body dies. And that makes living easier and less fearful because you know that even if you die you’ll be just fine.

I also enjoyed exploring and getting to know another plane of existence. I’ve encountered the most amazing high vibrational beings on the astral plane, plus it helped solidify relationships with my own guides and angels who are there protecting me from harm.

11. What are the dangers of astral projection?

If you project while you’re in a state of fear you can inadvertently attract lower vibrational beings who will want to disturb you and siphon your energy. You could also encounter energies who want to harm you, so without adequate protection you could fall victim to these entities.

Some people also become addicted to astral projection, preferring to explore this other dimension instead of living their own lives; so it can be a huge distraction, and a huge draw for people who are depressed or unhappy with their lives. That’s not healthy.

You can also attract the attention of some powerful and dangerous beings on the astral plane. It’s not something to play around with, however, if you do it under the protection of your angels and guides you could have some amazing and wonderful experiences.

12. What advice can you give to people who want to be more intuitive?

Step one is realizing that intuition is an inherent gift we all have. Then you’ve got to exercise the muscle and commit to working it out so you can build it up. It’s not going to just magically increase over time. Be on the lookout for signs, signals, and synchronicities as those will be coming from your guides. Identify your intuitive modality so you know how intuition looks, feels, and sounds when you receive it. Then follow your intuition. Practice heeding it. That will help it grow. Feel a strong urge to get something at the grocery store, follow it. Feel an urge to go left instead of right, heed it. Feel an urge to call someone you haven’t thought about in years, do it! You’ll begin to see your life flows better when you follow your intuition.

13. I’ve recently read an article which explained the importance of living in high energy places. What impact, in your opinion, do your surroundings have on you?

The energy around you impacts you significantly, especially if you’re empathic. Walk around a place riddled with crime, poverty, hopelessness, and despair, and then try walking around a convention of lightworkers and you’ll feel the difference in energy. People and places carry energy, and that energy is being broadcast all the time. As we physically walk through areas, whatever energy is present bombards us like asteroids on a space ship. We are impacted by that energy and it will affect our vibration. Before you go into an area with depressed energy, you’ve got to pull in your chakras so you don’t take that energy home with you. Or, if you’re strong enough, you can take your loving, peaceful, compassionate energy into a depressed area and uplift them. One person really can make a difference, but if you’re surrounded by negative energy then it can be difficult. Learning to carry and broadcast love, peace, and gratitude is what will change the world.

14. Lastly, please tell me about what projects you are involved in and what plans you have for the future.

I’m moving now into teaching, training, and sharing my knowledge. I just started a professional intuitive training program where I teach others how to become professional intuitives. I’ll be creating more audio programs on topics like psychic development, increasing intuition, chakras and energy, and connecting with spirit guides. I recently started doing workshops and I’m enjoying that, so I’ll be developing more workshops on psychic, spiritual and personal development. The best way to find out what I’m offering is to sign up for my free newsletter which includes articles, exercises, and content not found on my blog. Plus there is a free bonus when you sign up for the newsletter. I continue to do private readings for my clients around the world, which is a true source of joy for me. Helping people get the messages their guides are trying to send them is extremely rewarding and satisfying to me.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with my blog readers. I wish you success in your future projects and I hope to see you someday in London:)
