Interview With A Self Improvement WebTV Host Lilou Mace

Lilou Mace is a WebTV host, French-American author and a self improvement video blogger. She currently lives in London, UK and in this post I will share her views on many self improvement subjects that are of interest to many.

Lilou is a very interesting person who has achieved a lot of her goals and is strongly motivated to help people grow. She is the co-founder of a 100 Day Reality Challenge project, has a Youtube channel with over 8,000 subscribers and has a video blog site.

Without any further delay, here is the interview I did with her about how she achieved her goals, what advice she has for those who want to live their dreams and what plans she has for the future.

1.You are the co-founder of a “100 Day Reality Challenge” project. Can you tell me more about this project?

I have co-founded this project with Laura Duksta and Sandy Grason in 2005. It is now a community of 5,000 people practising universal laws for 100 days. During these 100 days you have to focus on one area or one aspect of your life. My last season, for instance, was focused on the experience of abundance in all its forms. That season was indeed abundant! I made a video to share with others about the manifestations during this season.

So many blessings happen when we let the Universe do the work and co-create with us. Besides, it is fun and keeps me on track. I’m really passionate about this project. I am in the season 15 now, which is about healing as I have a skin disease called Rosacea. I had some seasons where I focused on finding peace, losing weight or finding a job.

2.Your YouTube channel already received over 3 million views. What prompted you to create your videos and what are they about?

Creating videos came from participating in the 100 day reality challenge. For 100 days every participant video blogs or writes about their journey. I prefer using video to talk about my intentions, how to make them real and share my life challenges with others.

Because of this project I decided to post my videos on Youtube. Also, when Oprah Winfrey featured The Secret, me and couple of other people recorded a video inviting people to test the secret. I also shared my videos on Facebook, Twitter and my own website and because of that I received even more views.

My videos are about sharing my journey, sharing the teachings of other teachers and interviews with spiritual teachers worldwide.

3.You have over 8,000 YouTube subscribers. How did you create such a huge fan base?

I have been on Youtube pretty much since the beginning of 2006. At the time there where not many other ‘positive’ and inspiring videos on Youtube. Back then I used to receive a lot of negative comments, but I continued with creating videos, learned from my mistakes and shared my experiences.

I think to achieve success on Youtube as well as in life, you should be consistent, authentic and creative. Any person can achieve this by listening to his/her heart and not copying anyone else but being themselves.

4.You also wrote a book “I Lost My Job And I Liked It” which received a lot of positive feedback. Why did you decide to write it and what is it about?

Thank you for mentioning it. The book has been such a life-giving gift. I decided to write it after losing my job to record all my thoughts, manifestations, challenges along the way and to discover what my dream job is. The book finally became my 30 day law of attraction diary of a dream job seeker. Moreover, in the book I share many experiences from my everyday life.

5.What inspires you to work on so many projects?

I am inspired by my deep desire to help others and share my experiences. My purpose in life is to inspire, to connect with people and to grow.

6.Do you ever feel overwhelmed? If so, how do you get your balance back?

Yes, I do. When I become overwhelmed, I spend more time in nature or take slow, deep breaths. If I’m stressed it means that I’m out of balance. When this happens, I take some time off. However I learnt not to get stressed when things seem to be going slow. I simply relax and enjoy the moment.

7.I’ve heard about you meeting Oprah Winfrey. How did that happen?

I met Oprah Winfrey in Chicago, in November 2007. I had just arrived in Chicago because I moved there from Florida. I was having dinner with my friend and he told me that Oprah Harpo Studios was around the corner.

The next day I was so inspired by this new knowledge that I did a video blog mentioning my intention to meet Oprah within 2 months. 2 days later the guy I was having dinner with bumped into Oprah at the Ritz Carlton. She invited both of us to be in the audience. The show was about a dream job and then I realised I wanted to do what she was doing.

8.You don’t sit around and wait for success to knock on your door but courageously take constant action that produces great results. Where do you get so much energy and motivation?

I have a strong motivation and I’ve always been an action person. What really motivates me is my participation in the 100 Day Reality Challenge. There I get great support and that keeps me going, growing, sharing and making things happen. Because of this challenge I seem to want to do more each day. I’ve also noticed that the more relaxed and trusting I am, the more things are happening in my life. So now I’m trying to learn to not do so much but simply relax and trust.

9.What is your advice to people who want to live their dreams but fear that they will fail?

If you are not doing anything about your dreams, then you are sure to fail. There is no joy in not trying and giving it all, in getting out of your comfort zone. If some people think I’m lucky, I always say to them that I co-created my luck. If you act small, you will be small. If you think big, dream big and act big, you will get results.

I always advice people to go for their dreams, to take the first step and move forward. Even if you don’t achieve all your dreams, if you wouldn’t take action in the first place, you wouldn’t even achieve that much. A dream is meant to be lived, not dreamed alone!

10.So many people give up their dreams at the first sign of difficulty. Did you experience any failures and what kept you going?

I had so many failures in my life and I still do. But the more I’m loving myself and trust myself, the quicker I re-bounce and focus on succeeding. I entirely changed my relationship with challenges. Challenges make us grow, they are not there to be ignored and thought of as a sign of danger.

Follow your heart, open your heart and go where life is taking you. It’s up to you to realise your dreams, nobody else will get you there but yourself. When we learn that there is no such thing as a victim, that we co-create our own reality, we progress much faster and feel more fulfilled. Life indeed can be magical!

11.What, in your opinion, are the qualities one must have to achieve success?

You should love yourself, trust yourself and be not afraid to fail. You should be authentic, honest, flexible and generous.

12.Finally, tell me about your future plans and goals.

I am currently working on my second and third books. I also video interview more and more spiritual teachers. Moreover, I’m developing my WebTV website and interview publishers and authors of spiritual and well-being books.

My biggest goal is to host an internationally acclaimed TV show which receives millions of views and which helps millions of people to grow, fulfil their dreams and be happy.

Thank you very much for giving this great interview. I wish you all the best in your future projects.
