How To Become Successful By Changing Your Self-Image

There are many books written on how to become successful.

Unfortunately, many of them only focus on taking certain actions to achieve success such as calling more prospects for business success or having stricter diet for weight loss success.

To become truly successful you have to dig deeper than that.

You can only become as successful as your self-image allows you to become. Negative self-image is the exact reason why some people seem to never achieve anything great. They try their best, they listen to uplifting audio messages, they try to be as positive as they can, but their results stay exactly the same.

If you have a negative self-image, you cannot achieve success because that would contradict with who you currently are. The feelings of fear, being not good enough or distrust of your own abilities are the indicators that you want to pursue something greater than your self-image allows you to have.

I have a friend who is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, she looks like a movie star. However she does a manual work and she gets a very low salary. It was puzzling to me to see such a beautiful woman who could easily launch her own make up line or become a model to be in such a hopeless situation. What’s more, she was in a relationship with a guy who cheated on her numerous times and she would always forgive him.

When I got to know her better, I discovered that she had a very negative self-image. She did not think that she could ever achieve anything great, she did not think of herself as being intelligent or having any special talents. She was very insecure and she only stayed with her boyfriend because she was afraid to be single.

That shows that no matter how the person looks, his or her self-image can be totally independent of the outside appearance. This is very obvious in the movie industry. Some well-known actors have nothing special about their looks, but they have such great self-images that people think about them as being great without even thinking why they are so special.

You see, people mostly react to your self-image and not to how you look. You have definitely experienced this situation when you met someone who did not have anything impressive about their looks but you just felt that they are great people. You felt attracted to them for no obvious reason.

And you also most definitely met someone who looks good, but you don’t feel well in their company. Nobody likes them and they emanate the vibration that repels most of the people. Usually such people are aware why they repel others. They would say something along the lines of: “I am boring, that’s why I have no friends” or “People think that I am annoying” or something similar. The thing is, they are what they say they are and the more they talk about it, the more they strengthen such self-image.

How to change your self-image

If you have read quite a few of my posts, you know what I am going to suggest. You can change yourself by visualising yourself the way you want to be. If you want to be confident, for example, visualise yourself in different situations where you show your confidence. Feel how you would feel if you were confident. If you keep visualising yourself as a confident person, you will soon start acting like one, and other people will start thinking that you are confident.

You cannot change without visualisation because your mind can only give you ideas of how you can change when it has some kind of assignment from you. Your mind constantly works towards the goals that you want to achieve. If you have no goals, you will feel negative or even depressed because you live in disharmony with your nature. When you visualise your goal every day, you will feel positive and excited most of the time because your mind gives you clues as to what step to take to get closer to your goal.

You will surely know when your self-image starts changing. However, firstly you will experience some discomfort, most probably a confusion-doubt-fear-anxiety sequence. This is because your mind is experiencing renewal (because you are introducing a new picture of a different you).

However, after that you will start changing into a successful person: your style will probably change, together with your taste and even the way you talk. This change will be very exciting to you because you will witness your own transformation.

So don’t struggle to become successful with a negative self-image inside you. Change your self-image first and then you will never need to struggle again – you will effortlessly achieve success in every area of your life.
