Immortality Review – The Book Written by Kabbalist Rav Berg
I came across the Immortality book by Rav Berg when I was chilling out in one restaurant in Kerala, India. The waiter saw me looking at the books on the restaurant’s shelf and told me that I could choose any book, take it home to read it and then return it. I looked through all the books and this book got my interest as it was completely black and it looked very old.
When I saw the title “Immortality” it got me interested but I thought it might be the book about black magic. After reading a few pages however I understood that this book is about how to become God conscious, but went about it in a different way – from the angle of immortality.
This “Immortality” book contains a uniform message almost in every page – that it’s possible by changing your consciousness to never experience death.
Kabbalist Rav Berg, the author of this book, claims that people die only because they subscribe to the mortality consciousness. This common belief in mortality has been around throughout the ages, since Eve and Adam ate from the Tree of Knowledge.
The author mentions that Nacis had the saying that if you tell a lie a thousand times people will start believing that the lie is true. Mortality is a lie, however we have such a strong belief in it that we think it’s the truth.
Rav Berg claims that the Bible is like a secret code that once unlocked, one can clearly see that it mainly deals with how humanity chose the mortality consciousness, where the devil resides. Mortality consciousness is subscribed by those fooled by their five senses. Those people who believe that what they see is the reality are bound to subscribe to the reality of death too.
Mortality is just an illusion, it’s the lie that people believe in. It’s the illusion that Eve and Adam got into once they tasted the apple from the Tree of Knowledge. Suddenly they forgot that they were immortal beings that were supposed to live forever and subscribed to the evil belief that death will certainly visit them.
If people would only understand that death is just an illusion they might wake up. But this belief in death is very strong, as strong as the belief in an unavoidable aging.
The importance of sharing
The author claims that if you see death as a consequence of being on a certain consciousness level then you will be able to change your mind and change your consciousness to that of immortality. But that also requires you to change from the selfish nature to the nature of sharing.
Selfishness, wanting for the things to belong only to you is of the mortality consciousness. Whilst sharing is the inherited quality of Light, therefore of God too. So if you change from wanting things only for you to sharing with what you get with your friends, relatives and other people, your consciousness will start shifting to that of God’s.
The healing power of water
Water has an immense cleansing power – not only it cleanses what we see with our physical eyes but it also removes impure entities from our bodies.
Some people become physically or mentally sick when they give too much power to the outside world. When they start allowing negative thoughts in, the author describes that that’s how they invite evil entities into their bodies. Then all kinds of afflictions are bound to start which lead to diseases or even death.
To remove these consequences of the mortality consciousness one can use the healing power of water. It’s important to immerse yourself fully in water – everything should be immersed in order to get rid of those negative entities. The author claims that even if you miss one strand of hair, the negative entities will cling onto it until you are out of water and then redistribute themselves back in your body.
Kabbalah knowledge
Rav Berg claims that with proper Kabbalah interpretation one can understand and overcome mortality. Kabbalah education used to be reserved only to a privileged few, but with the efforts of Rav Berg’s teacher and later on Rav Berg himself, Kabbalah education was finally offered to all who were interested in it.
Rav Berg experienced huge criticism from other Kabbalists from making the Kabbalah knowledge available to all. However he persisted and his centres flourished worldwide, empowering thousands to raise their consciousness levels.
Accurate predictions
The author accurately predicted the chaos that would start in the 21st century, as well as the extremities of consciousness, meaning that some people will get vast knowledge of the universe and some would spiritually regress.
It’s not the first book that I read which predicts that the world as we know it is coming to an end and that if the majority of people would choose ignorance, the world will be destroyed whilst if we choose spirituality, the world will become of a higher vibration. In this high vibration some, whose bodies were not filled with light (who have lower vibrations), will not be able to survive.
4 months insurance against death
Rav Beg used to teach classes where if people do as told, they can be completely sure that death won’t touch them for at least 4 months. Hundreds of students took this course and nobody died, as the author claimed, within the 4 months of taking the course.
The author tells that if you are completely positive, non violent and do only good deeds, you as though create the protection of light which prevents you from getting into any kind of accident. However if you allow one negative thought or action take place, then this protective shield is damaged and negative entities, causing mental turmoil and disease are allowed to enter your body.
Misunderstandings
There are a few points in this book that remained unclear to me. Rav Berg’s teacher was teaching immortality but he died. After his death Rav Berg was able to see him however. So what’s unclear is that the book doesn’t directly tell you whether you would really be able to live in your physical body forever or whether you would avoid feeling death but your body would die anyway.
I think Rav Berg meant to say that one can transcend this notion of life and death and experience everlasting existence instead. So your body dies but you are in touch with your soul and you are not in the event of death as a result. However he put it in a complicated ways, therefore the reader may get confused whether the author talks about the actual avoidance of death or just getting onto the higher level of consciousness where you are in touch with your soul and therefore not attached to the material world.
Also the concept of evil is unclear. The author speaks about evil as an entity creating chaos in people’s lives and economy. But he doesn’t describe the causes of the chaos – he simply says that the evil is to be blamed. He describes only the cause of the chaos in one’s body (because of negative thinking) but doesn’t say anything about economical turmoils or other large-scale disasters.
I think he should have gone more into detail about what the evil actually is in his opinion. I choose not to subscribe to the opinion that Satan is like a person having mind and choosing which people to torture and which people to leave aside. I think the Satan can be described as the illusion of the world itself and those people who subscribe to the illusion and turn their backs against the spiritual side suffer as a result.
In one chapter of the book I found an explanation of what the author meant by Satan, although it’s still not entirely clear how Satan makes decisions:
“To manifest sharing, the Light created an infinite Vessel, which includes all the souls of humankind, to receive that which the Creator imparted. In the process, the Vessel inherited traits of the Creator and therefore felt unfulfilled at receiving so much without being able to be the cause. So we, the Vessel, came here to earn the fulfillment though the action of choosing Light over Darkness. To aid us, the Light created the angel, The Satan, to test us and give us free will. Just as the domain of Light exists, so also there exists the domain of darkness. This domain has been recognized from time immemorial. Its emperor has been given the name of “the Satan” by people of religion, and people of science have called him “entropy” or “Murphy”, the master of Murphy’s Law. By any name, the Satan unleashes evil and chaos into the universe, and the last thing that his emperor of the dark world wants is to have this dark kingdom disappear when the Light goes on. Throughout the history of humankind, the Satan has been threatened by the Light whenever it has penetrated into his dark domain.”
In one of the chapters Rav Berg also mentions that when the Satan is allowed to rule, events such as a past event of the massive extermination of Jews are bound to happen. Again, no explanation is given as to how this permission for the Satan to rule was given.
Furthermore, the book is not logically organised in my opinion. The author jumps into new topics failing to fully explain what he meant in the previous topics. However the book is interesting indeed and puts spirituality in a somehow different light.
This book was slightly confusing to me and I may read it again sometime. I’m not sure if I would recommend for people to read it though, in the fear that it might confuse people more instead of clarify the subjects of death and evil.
However if you feel you are strongly established in spirituality and are in touch with your intuition, this book should improve your understanding on certain topics, such as water, positive thinking and the origin of illnesses.
Now it’s entirely up to you whether you will choose to read the Immortality book or not. But if you get more confused about some spirituality topics, remember that I told you this might happen:)
