The Importance of Tithing
Tithing is such a powerful act. You may have read that you should firstly give to receive, but you may not even be able to fully grasp this simple yet life-changing law of the universe.
In this article I will try my best to convey the amazing power of the act of giving.
It is impossible to receive anything if you don’t give anything. The more freely you give, the more abundantly you receive. If you want to get a lot but you are not willing to firstly give something you have, you are bound to suffer from lack.
You see, we are energy beings. We exchange energies. If you put all your energy into some work that will do good for others, you will most definitely get the same energy back, but it may be in a different form such as money.
For example if you provide service, you get paid for it. If you provide poor service (when your energy is not directed solely into your work), you get little or no money. If you provide excellent service, you get paid well.
From my personal experience I have noticed that if you provide good service you get either money, good friendships or you meet people that provide great service to you in return.
If you give something material, you get something material in return. If I pay for my friend’s meal, I know that soon someone will invite me for dinner or for a cup of coffee. If I give my clothes to charity, soon I will get the right amount of money and will be lead to the right place to buy the exact clothes of my liking.
The same goes for tithing. It is such a powerful concept that once you really grasp it you will notice such a huge difference in your life. If you consistently give money with the hope that it will do good for those that receive it, you will be rewarded tenfold.
If you provide service to some person, don’t expect him to give something to you in return. You are most likely to get something for your service from another source. Don’t limit the channels of receiving once you provide good service. Trust the universe. The universe will send you your good through the most convenient channel.
Consistency is important. If you sparingly give, you will sparingly receive. If you start consistently giving, you will soon enjoy continuous flow of money and you will never experience lack.
Just look at the people that you know. Those that are better off always give in some way. They either give their knowledge, donate their material goods or tithe. Those that are in debt usually hoard every penny they get, they don’t like to share and they always think how to get more, but not how to give more.
If you don’t have enough money it means that you don’t give enough money. If you are not loved, it means that you don’t love anyone. If you are not happy, it means you don’t wish happiness for others. You firstly need to give and only then will your receive.
If you seriously want to create a much larger flow of money in your life, you must start consistently giving money. Give money to good causes, like education or rebuilding houses for those that suffered from floods or hurricanes. Give money for those that are trying to create something good rather than fight the bad. Although it is not of your concern what the organisations or people will do with your money, you should make sure that you are not giving money to those that will not help themselves.
The spirit of giving
Next time you get paid, donate 10% of your money to some good cause. Do the same every month. And not with the money that is left once you pay the bills, but take 10% of the whole salary. Trust the universe and it will reward you.
If you give your money only thinking about returns, this is not a free giving. Give your money in the sincere hope that this act will improve lives of people. And then expect to receive. Be ready to receive. Be ready to receive money from all the possible and even impossible sources.
I personally take 30% of my earnings every month and put 10% of it to savings and investments, 10% to my education (not traditional education but to buy personal development books and attend seminars) and 10% for tithing.
Firstly I know that it will be unusual for you to give. It certainly was for me. I was never taught to give, I was only taught to take. That was so new and alien to me. I was never told that I firstly need to give of what I have to receive something new. I cannot just get something new without giving something of what I have.
So it may take some time for you to get into the heart of giving, to really understand it. But once you really get it (by consistently giving) you feel more and more blessed. You start feeling great whilst giving, even better than receiving. You feel that you are contributing to the good of this world, you want to give more and more. Once you really feel this way, being able to give freely, the money starts flowing to you. You establish a stable inflow of money.
Out of the curiosity I compared some of my friends who earn a lot of money to those that are in debt. I can tell you that those who only wanted to get were the ones in debt and those who freely gave were the ones in surplus. Ask your friends if they are in the habit of constantly giving and then check their answers with their financial situation. You will be amazed how accurate this law is.
When you get into the heart of tithing, you will soon notice a strange phenomena: no matter how much you give, there is always more than enough for you left. It is as though the universe thanks for your spirit of giving, and rewards you with everything you ask for.
You will notice that when you give, there is always enough money to buy that which you want, or you will find something for much less than you thought is possible and there will be plenty of money left for you for other purchases. Trust me, it will surely be this way once you start freely giving.
Even genuine intention of giving will bring forth some things because if you are about to give something, you send out the same energy as of actually of giving, so you receive something in return.
It is very easy to check if you give enough. If you have enough, it means that you give enough. If you suffer from lack, it means that you have to give much more of your wisdom, time or money for you to become wealthier.
If you still have some thoughts of holding (knowledge, money or effort) back, it means that you still operate from the lack mindset. You should truly understand that you cannot lose anything.
You lose things only when you get more than you give. Thefts, competition and other unfair acquisitions are always temporary. It is only through giving that you receive that which will stay in your possession for as long as you want.
